This will be a very busy year for the Town of Sneads. Numerous projects are in the works. Renovations and additions are scheduled for the waste water treatment plant. The waste water collection and transmission system continues to be improved. Lift Station number 5 on Dairy Road will be completed renovated and the unsightly building removed from the road right of way. Plans to remove Lift Station number 7 and replace it with a gravity flow line are being made. All of the collection/transmission system improvements will be funded by grant money.
Storm water improvements are planned for this year. One project will be an upgrade in the culvert under Old Spanish Trail near the football field. Additional work will be done on Pope Street and Legion Road.
Upcoming Events
Sneads High School Homecoming Parade is Friday, Oct. 16. Lineup is 1 pm, parade starts at 2 pm. CDT.
Amnesty Week is scheduled for November 30 - December 4, 2009. Town of Sneads residents may bring old appliances, furniture, toys, tires, and scrap metal to the maintenance yard at Old Spanish Trail and Third Avenue. Please provide proof of residence. The following items and materials are NOT allowed: batteries, liquids/chemicals, paint, propane tanks, fluorescent bulbs, computers, televisions and microwave ovens.
The Town of Sneads Annual Christmas Parade will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 4 pm CDT. Entry forms and information will be available at City Hall.
